I am pleased to report a busy start to our year. I noticed that Rightmove had reported last week that enquiries on their portal were up over the Christmas period (and up by 4% on Boxing Day alone) compared to last year. We are finding the same encouraging results, with large numbers of new buyers enquiring already this year and I have to say I am pleased to have spoken to a number of new first time buyers.
If you have not contacted us regarding your search for a new home, we would love to hear from you, either pop into our office, call me on 01934 614893 or email us on sales@averyea.co.uk. With enquires from buyers on the rise, it is even more important we hear from you if you are looking to sell. Our pre-sale appraisals are completely free of charge and we would love to get you moving in 2017.

Avery Estate Agents is situated in Milton, Weston-Super-Mare and is one of the leading agents in the area and has been since it's establishment in 1988. Here we will be keeping you updated on what's going on within both the local and national property market.

I Think I’d Rather Be At Work!
Sometimes when you agree to do something you just know it’s not going to turn out well. That was certainly the case last Saturday when I agreed to go furniture shopping straight from watching Bristol City play.
All of those in know realise watching this football team is less than a pleasurable experience at the moment, so to go straight to the famous furniture shop in Eastville straight after the match was probably not the best timing.
So after spending an hour in the car getting to the other side of the city due to the volume of traffic it’s fair to say I wasn’t in a great frame of mind to look at bedroom furniture. Added to the fact that anyone that knows me will tell you that I hate DIY! So with pencil behind the ear (to feel more like a builder) I spent what felt like hours looking and researching to result in buying the sum total of a £3.50 storage box and a toilet brush! Got to say I have had better days!

Keep It Clean!
When selling a property, it's always helpful to keep your property clean, tidy and ready for viewing. The initial impression of your property is key in inciting a buyer. A tidy home is always much more inviting to a buyer, so spend a bit of time putting everything in it's place and reducing the visible clutter. 'House Beautiful' gives some top tips 'we all forget' when cleaning our living rooms..

Resolutions For 2017!
A brand new year always brings a host of new year resolutions that we try to stick to. Our office is no different with our team trying to do the following this year- give up drinking, lose weight, give up smoking, go out running to build up to a half marathon and give up drinking coffee (probably the hardest of all of them in our office!) to name a few of them. So far so good as everyone in the office has successfully stuck to their pledge. (Yes I know it’s only 12th January). Anyone else out there who have made their resolutions for 2017 I wish you the best of luck and hope we can all look forward to a more healthy year!

Incredible Performance Throughout 2016!
According to Rightmove, we achieved the most sales in the Milton area throughout 2016, beating 53 other offices that also sell property in the area!
'Strong November Sales Outweigh Uncertainty As Rightmove Forecasts 2% Rise In 2017'
The 'House Price Index' released by Rightmove back in November projects some interesting results.
- Price of property coming to market falls by 2.1% (-£6,511), exactly in line with seasonal average of last six years
- Rightmove forecasts 2% house price increase in 2017, the seventh consecutive year of rising prices:
- Buoyant November indicates upwards price pressure going into next year, though tempered by ongoing uncertainty and increasingly stretched buyer affordability
- Demand up in November 2016 compared to 2015: website visits up by 9%; sales agreed up 5.2% nationally and up in all regions except London
- Supply still tight with new listing numbers up by just 2%, and available stock for sale per agent down 5%

20,000 New Homes To Be Built in North Somerset
'The council’s core strategy planning document outlines where 20,985 new homes will be built in the area between 2006 and 2026 – a figure which was increased from 14,000 homes after a lengthy legal challenge from Bristol University in 2013.' - Weston Mercury Click to read more
