Happy 50th Daren!

I have the pleasure of writing the diary on behalf of Daren this week as we join together to celebrate his 50th Birthday on the 31st October - Yes, Daren was born on Halloween and has delivered us all a few 'treats' over the years with his Daren'isms to include a mishap on running machine, Daren the goalie, the trapped bird, the rocks at Woolacombe, and our first meet - Torquay - Fred Flintstone had nothing on us!!

Having worked together for almost 30 years we have gone through thick and thin, and I can honestly say Rob & I couldn't have asked for a better work partner or a truer friend than Daren, he really is the best and we think the world of him!

So, HAPPY 50th BIRTHDAY DAREN! Enjoy your party celebration and readers... watch this space in anticipation for what could be another story to add to the library of Daren'isms! - Sarah, Avery Director

Stop Clowning Around!

Each year I have normally used my diary to show my displeasure over how the build up to Christmas seems to start earlier and earlier each year, but this time I have to mention Halloween which seems to have got really out of hand this year. With visits to my local supermarkets stacked with fancy dress outfits, broom sticks, trick and treat sweets and pumpkins of all shapes and sizes I am trying not to be a kill joy, as I like a bit of apple dunking as much as the next person, but do we have to make everything so commercial? 

One last thing why do we now have all these scary clowns? My idea of a clown is a funny often clumsy character and never scary! When did they start to become scary characters?

Housing Market Still Buoyant

Still no signs that the market is slowing down and a bit of Autumn sunshine is certainly helping! Last weekend was one of our busiest Saturdays we have experienced for many weeks resulting in a number of sales being agreed. Our website is also producing some very impressive viewing figures with over 4300 potential buyers looking at our clients properties during the month of September.

Making Hay Whilst The Sun Shines

What a lovely bonus this weather is at the moment. After a really pleasant September with a generous amount of sunshine, the mild weather seems to be continuing into October. I am sure an expert will tell me there is a scientific reason for these regular mild Autumns but all I can say is lets make the most of it, we are loving that fact that we are continuing to show clients our properties in the sunshine. I am sure it will change over night and we will have soon forgotten what the sunshine looks like. I think the saying is 'make hay whilst the sun shines'.
